SPEIT Signed MoU for Business Cooperation with Alibaba and others
On November 5th, 2018, the SJTU-ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT), Telecom ParisTech, Alibaba Cloud, and Alibaba Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for business cooperation in Paris, France. It was jointly signed by the Chinese Dean of SPEIT Mr. LI Shaoyuan, President of Telecom ParisTech Ms. Yves POILANE, Head of Alibaba‘s operations in France Mr. Sebastien BADAULT, and International Business Director of Alibaba Cloud Ms. An Ning, with Chairman of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Mr. Jiang Sixian, President of ENSTA ParisTech Ms. Elisabeth CREPON, President of Mines ParisTech Mr. Vincent LAFLECHE, Vice President of École Polytechnique Mr. Frank PACARD, French Dean of SPEIT Mr. Frederic TOUMAZET, Vice Dean of SPEIT Mr. Lu Jialiang, and General Manager of Alibaba Cloud’s operations in France Mr. Liu Qunkai present at the signing ceremony.
According to the MoU, SPEIT will cooperate with Alibaba Cloud to carry out curriculum design based on public cloud solutions that is expected to involve cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, and vertical applications, etc. and offer online curriculum platforms and cloud computing resources for students to practice in a way that would help them better understand and apply these new technologies.
Alibaba Cloud has been dedicated to serving the general public, especially entrepreneurs and the young people, ever since it’s founded. It aims to develop the next generation of technical specialists, entrepreneurs and leaders by providing resources and training related to cloud calculating to teachers and students of universities and other educational institutions worldwide. Its cooperation with SPEIT and Telecom ParisTech this time is an important part of Alibaba Group’s global strategy in education.
Mr. Jiang shared with the rest of the participants two short stories involving executive chairman of Alibaba Group Mr. Jack Ma and him and encouraged both sides to work in close cooperation to help bring out more and more innovators for the new era.
The agreement with Alibaba Group marks SPEIT’s deeper cooperation with Chinese companies, which can be taken as an opportunity to lure more of them to get involved in SPEIT’s school management and help develop more outstanding talents that can meet China’s economic and social needs.
