SPEIT received CTI Accreditation Renewal and EUR-ACE Label
Recently, SJTU-ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT) received the formal document from Commission des titres d’ingénieur (CTI) which authorizes CTI accreditation renewal on the maximum term of 6 years as well as EUR-ACE Label. Graduates of SPEIT will be awarded Diplôme d’ingénieur (Diploma of Engineer) admitted by the French State.
SPEIT has received its first CTI accreditation of 3 years in 2015. At the beginning of this year, SPEIT submitted an application for accreditation renewal. After the visit of SPEIT by Expert Assessment Mission in March, the application has been discussed and approved in the CTI plenary session. According to the Admission Report of CTI, SJTU-ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology is benefited from strong human resources of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and French partner schools, having high-level teacher and administrative teams and strong support of good facilities and public resources of SJTU. SPEIT enrolls high-quality students and adopts a new training model to fulfill the requirements of both Chinese master education and French engineers education. Its specialty offerings meet the needs of social and economic development, especially align to Chinese national strategic plan "Made in China 2025". The teaching quality of Fundamental Cycle is excellent, and the training plan of Engineering Cycle is well implemented with the establishment of French-China cooperation mechanism. CTI believes that SPEIT has adopted the recommendations of the previous audit report, and made great progress in business partnership, international student enrollment, academic degree exchange and teaching quality.
Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI) is an independent body established under French laws in 1934. Appointed by the French Ministry of Education, CTI is responsible for auditing the qualification of education institutions in awarding the engineering degree “Diplôme d’ingénieur”. Engineer education is a unique model of higher education in France with strict selection standards, and the Diplôme d’ingénieur is a specific Higher Education Diploma in France equivalent to a master degree. The list of accredited Diplôme d’ingénieur will be published in the Official Gazette of France, and graduates with a French Diplôme d’ingénieur have the same entitlements as French college graduates.
The successful acquisition of CTI accreditation on the maximum term of 6 years is a well-deserved recognition of the talents cultivation quality in SPEIT and the result of joint efforts by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and French partner schools. SPEIT will continue to explore innovative training models actively as a leading example, and strive to build a world-class Institute of Engineers as a good example of elite education and Sino-foreign Cooperation in Running School, thereby making contribute to China's engineering education reform.
