SPEIT and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press to Publish French Textbook Series: China-France Excellent Engineer Development Project

On the afternoon of October 22nd, SPEIT and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press (hereinafter referred to as the SJTU Press) signed a framework agreement on the French textbook series – the China-France Excellent Engineer Development Project. The signing ceremony was attended by Director of SJTU Press Ms. LI Fang, Director of the Science and Technology Division of SJTU Press Mr. Qian Fangzhen, Secretary of Party General Branch and Deputy Dean of SPEIT Mr. LIU Zenglu, French Dean of SPEIT Mr. Frédéric TOUMAZET, and Assistant to Dean of SPEIT and head of the mathematics teaching group Mr. Alain CHILLÈS, and facilitated by Deputy Secretary of Party General Branch of SPEIT Ms. LI Yi.

The textbook series was compiled based on 8 years of teaching practice of SPEIT, to which over 30 Chinese and French teachers dedicated their time and effort. The first two textbooks on mathematics and physics were published in 2019, to be followed by 34 textbooks covering physics, mathematics, and engineering. As the first set of French textbooks for engineering education in China, the textbook series will fill the void of Chinese-French textbooks in China, help promote and apply the best practices of SPEIT in academic development across the country, and demonstrate the important result of localizing French engineering education in China.
