Intercultural Module| CooTek CGO Zhu Jiang Invited to Deliver Lecture for SPEIT
On the afternoon of November 25th 2020, Chief Growth Officer (CGO) of CooTek Mr. Zhu Jiang delivered a lecture titled “From Intern to CGO” to the third-year students of SPEIT.
Founded in 2008 and listed on Nasdaq in New York of the US in 2018, CooTek is a global Internet company that develops mobile applications based on data and customer demand. As one of the founders of the company, Zhu shared his decade-long tumultuous career at CooTek, the story of expanding the daily active user base of its project “Crazy Novel Reading” from 0 to 10 million in 18 months, and his reflections on what he had experienced all along.
As Mr. Zhu was about to graduate with a master‘s degree in computer science from the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the global financial crisis erupted in 2008, forcing him to drop out of the internship at Google but coincidently joining CooTek that had been founded not long ago. His path to entrepreneurship has been a rocky one fraught with various uncertainties. No one can easily succeed, but with perseverance and optimism, they made the company listed on Nasdaq 10 years later. He recommended students intent on starting a business to read The Lean Startup by Eric Ries and Further Along The Road Less Traveled: The Unending Journey Towards Spiritual Growth by Scott Peck, which he had learnt a lot from to introduce products that finally made a hit.
