SPEIT Party Secretary and Distinguished Professor Chen Cailian Wins the China Young Women Scientists Award

The world needs science, and science needs women. On April 28, the 19th China Young Women Scientists Award ceremony, co-organized by the All-China Women's Federation, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, and L'Oréal China, was held in Beijing. Chen Cailian, Party Secretary of SPEIT at Université Jiao Tong de Shanghai and Distinguished Professor of the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, received the China Young Women Scientists Award!

Professor Chen Cailian has long been engaged in research in the field of industrial internet, leading more than 20 major research projects, including key projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). She has published two English monographs, over 100 SCI-indexed papers, and holds more than 50 U.S./China invention patents. Her research achievements have won one Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award and four provincial and ministerial first prizes. She has also achieved industrial applications in the fields of intelligent manufacturing and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). She has won the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems Outstanding Paper Award (first Chinese scholar to do so) and four Best Paper Awards at international conferences. In 2022, she received the IEEE TCCPS Industrial Technology Excellence Award and was named one of the "Top 10 Rising Stars in Computer Networking and Communications" by N2Women. In 2023, she won the 19th China Young Women Scientists Award. She was among the first selected for the Ministry of Education's "Young Changjiang Scholars," received the NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Fund, and won the Chinese Association of Automation Young Scientist Award.

She serves as Associate Editor of the National Science Open journal in the field of the Industrial Internet, and is on the editorial boards of several domestic and international journals, including IEEE TVT. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Industrial Internet Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation, a member of the Control Theory Committee, an executive director of the Shanghai Society of Automation, and a member of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology.

 

About the "China Young Women Scientists Award"

The "China Young Women Scientists Award" is an extension of the L'Oréal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" program in China. Established in 2004 by the All-China Women's Federation, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, and L'Oréal China, it has become a prestigious national award dedicated to female scientists in China.
