At the headquarters of UNESCO, students and teachers from the “Global SPEITers” practice group of the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT) met for the first time with Professor Yang Jin, then the Representative of China with the rank of Ambassador to UNESCO. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, perioperative medicine is ushering in a major opportunity for intelligent transformation. The "Intelligent Perioperative Care · Medical Innovation Future - 'AI + Perioperative Medicine'" Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Academic Forum, hosted by the Graduate School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong University - ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology and the Sixth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, aims to build a multidisciplinary and integrated academic exchange platform.

Recently, the National Finals of the 24th National University Student Robot Competition RoboMaster 2025 concluded successfully at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center. Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Yunhan Jiaolong Team fought their way through challenges and won the national championship again. Since their first victory in 2021, the Jiaolong Team has continued to dominate the 2023, 2024, and 2025 seasons, becoming the first team in RoboMaster history to claim four consecutive championships.

Recently, the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM) officially announced the 2025 award list. This year's competition attracted a record-breaking 27,456 teams from universities worldwide, making the competition exceptionally fierce.

In this year's contest, teams led by or including students from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Paris Elite Institute of Technology performed excellently, continuing their legacy of success. They won over 20 awards, including the Finalist Award (F Award) and the Meritorious Winner Award (M Award), fully demonstrating their solid foundation in mathematics and physics, outstanding innovative capabilities, and international competitiveness.

From October 12th to 15th, 2024, the final of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition (2024) was held with great ceremony at the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology won one gold award in the final, and in the Shanghai regional final held in July this year, it won one gold award, three silver awards, and one bronze award, achieving a new breakthrough in high-level science and innovation competitions for the institute!

On the afternoon of September 25, 2024, Professor Lyu Jian, an academician of the French National Academy of Technologies, an academician of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at City University of Hong Kong, was a guest at the "China-France Excellence Forum," sharing his experiences studying in France, his research directions, and his insights into China-France engineering education. Professor Chen Cailian, Party Secretary of the SPEIT, Professor Zhong Shengyi, Vice Dean, Associate Professor Cheng Junfang, Assistant Professor Shang Xiaoqing, and over a hundred students from various faculties attended the event in person, filling the venue. From July 14th to 20th, SPEIT successfully hosted the 2024 High School Students Summer Research Challenge Camp. This camp attracted 97 outstanding students from over 50 key high schools across the country, including the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, Northeast Yucai School, and Shanghai High School.

From July 4th to 5th, the "Northward Stars, Beijing Dream" employment guidance practice team from SPEIT at Shanghai Jiao Tong University went to Beijing for a social practice focusing on the aerospace industry. The practice team consisted of 11 senior undergraduates and postgraduates, led by the Chinese Dean Zhang Wenming and Deputy Party Secretary Yao Xue, along with staff members Ding Jie from the Student Affairs Office and Meng Fanjun from the Scientific Research and Platform Office.

Recently, the results of the 40th American International Collegiate Mathematical Modeling Competition (MCM) and the Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM) were announced. This year, 51 students from our institute stood out among 28,912 teams from over 20 countries and regions worldwide, achieving remarkable results. Among them, the team of Fan Cunxin, Wang Haonan, and Zhang Ke won the Outstanding Award (O Prix)s and the SIAM Prix (Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics Prix). Shanghai Jiao Tong University secured three Outstanding Awards in this year's competition. Additionally, the institute had five students nominated for the Finalist Award, 18 students won the Meritorious Winner Award, and 16 students received the Honorable Mention Award.

On August 28, 2024, the opening ceremony for the 2024 undergraduate cohort of SPEIT was grandly held at the school. Over 100 freshmen, full of hope for the future, gathered together to embark on a new journey in life.

On May 25th, the national semifinals and finals of the second "Excellence Cup" national high school and middle school French speech competition were grandly held at the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The theme of this competition was "Technology Illuminates the World." Fourteen university contestants from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Nanjing University, Shanghai University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Shanghai International Studies University, as well as four middle school contestants from Chengdu Foreign Language School, Chongqing Foreign Language School, and Nanjing Foreign Language School, participated in the national semifinals. They delivered three-minute prepared speeches and answered judges' questions for two minutes. Ten university contestants and three middle school contestants advanced to the finals. At the finals, they delivered splendid speeches on topics such as "Technological Innovation and Global Development" and "Cultural Inheritance and Innovation."

Recently, SPEIT at Shanghai Jiao Tong University welcomed a special group of guests: a student delegation from École Polytechnique de Paris. During their four-day visit, these students deeply experienced Chinese culture and engaged in extensive and in-depth exchanges with the faculty and students of the school.

On the afternoon of April 16, under the sunshine at the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a unique Sino-French dragon boat friendship race was held. This event aimed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, as well as to build excitement for the upcoming French Olympic year.
