On June 11, the results of the 2025 Shanghai Jiao Tong University Outstanding Bachelor’s Thesis Selection were announced! A total of 60 theses from 29 schools participated in the evaluation. After departmental recommendations and university-level defense reviews, 45 theses were ultimately honored. Among them, the graduation thesis 《Research on Robust Voice Wake-Up in Real Complex Scenarios》 by Wen Wen, a 2025 undergraduate graduate of SPEIT, was successfully selected.

At the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT), a group of students have made steady progress in mathematical and physical studies, then achieved remarkable breakthroughs in scientific research. For example, Huang Siyuan, a second-year master's student at SPEIT, has consecutively published four papers as the first author in top artificial intelligence conferences such as NeurIPS 2023 and NeurIPS 2024. Graduated from Shanghai High School in 2019, Huang Siyuan entered SPEIT for integrated bachelor-master studies and once pursued a double degree at École Polytechnique. Currently, he is part of the LUMIA team at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, under the supervision of Associate Professor Lin Zhouhan from the School of Artificial Intelligence, and interning at the Seed Department of ByteDance. In this interview, Huang Siyuan shares the stories behind his academic papers.

On May 25, 2025, Lei Xuanwu, a first-year student from SPEIT, shone at the 12th Shanghai Science Popularization Contest hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission. With her presentation "The Scientific Marvel of Neutrons," she emerged victorious among 1,212 citywide contestants, claiming the Shanghai First Prize and the title of "2025 Shanghai Top 10 Science Communicator."

He is the concertmaster of SJTU Rongchang Philharmonic Orchestra, leading the club through nearly a hundred splendid performances. He is also the Zhejiang Provincial Head of SJTU's "Return-to-Alma-Mater" Promotion Team, dedicated to spreading the spirit of SJTU and its Paris Institute. Between demanding studies and passionate pursuits, he found his own perfect balance. Now, stepping into graduate studies, he immerses himself fully in research, radiating brilliance on his academic path. he is Lin Nan, 2025 Undergraduate Graduate of SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University Outstanding Graduate.

Chen Yiming graduated from SPEIT and received the 2025 Shanghai Outstanding Undergraduate Graduate Award, majoring in information engineering, French and applied mathematics, with research interests in multimodal understanding and 3D generation and applied mathematics. He is currently studying mathematics and applied engineering at X,  which has awarded him a full scholarship and the Fulgence Bienvenüe excellence prize from the Ecole Polytechnique.

Li Minglang graduated from SPEIT in 2024, majoring in mechanical engineering and French. She studied at the Université de Saclay in Paris as an exchange student and was awarded the Marie Skłodowska-Curie scholarship from the IAEA, as well as silver and bronze prizes in the Shanghai competition of the International Innovation Competition for University Students in China. After graduating, she joined Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute to work on the hydrogen fracture mechanism of zirconium alloy in nuclear power plants.

Huang Tianyang is a graduate of SPEIT, and an outstanding graduate of SJTU, majoring in Information Engineering and French. He gained a double degree from École Polytechnique, and has interned at several AI companies and labs, including Inria, Hrflow, SYSNAV, Weride, etc. After graduating, he worked at Momenta, one of the world's largest unicorns in automated driving. 

Guan Xinyuan is SPEIT's outstanding graduate for the year 2025, majoring in Information Engineering and French. His research focuses on drone applications, modular drones and their control problems, and he will continue his studies in the field of robotics in the future.

From the banks of the Huangpu River to the banks of the Seine, from industrial sites to the United Nations stage, alumni of the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology have charted diverse life trajectories under the banner of "Excellent Engineers" in the global coordinate system.
