

On the afternoon of January 9, 2025, the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University held the annual performance review and assessment meeting for the party and government leadership and cadres of 2024. All members of the college's leadership team and all Chinese faculty members attended the meeting. Qian Wentao, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Office of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Liu Tong, representative of the university's disciplinary inspection and supervision institution, attended the meeting on behalf of the university.



Zhang Wenming, the Chinese Dean, delivered a work report on the college's activities in 2024 and his personal performance report under the theme "Inheriting the Sino-French Spirit and Writing a Brilliant Chapter Together." He comprehensively summarized and showcased the highlights of the college's work in 2024, reporting on its achievements in international cooperation, faculty development, teaching and nurturing, and cultural exchanges between China and France. Zhang Wenming stated that, with the care of the university's leadership and strong support from the French partner institutions, the college has developed a unique international talent cultivation model that integrates undergraduate and master's programs and combines general education with specialized skills. The college's educational quality has won international recognition, its circle of international partners continues to expand, and Sino-French cultural exchanges have reached a historic high. The college has achieved fruitful results in multiple areas and fully completed the key tasks set for 2024.

Chen Cailian, the Party Committee Secretary of the college, delivered the annual work report of the college's Party Committee and her personal performance report. She pointed out that in the future, the college will focus on the cultivation philosophy of "strengthening the foundation, diversifying, having an international vision, and training industry elites." The college will implement a "talent-strong institute" strategy, actively attract outstanding young talents, and support the growth and development of young teachers through guidance and education. The college will unite all its members to form a strong team synergy, play a leading role, build an elite team, strive for major scientific research projects, produce high-level research results, and train more outstanding engineers.

Yao Xue, the Deputy Party Committee Secretary, provided a detailed report on student affairs, alumni work, publicity, and admissions, showcasing the achievements and results of the past year. In 2024, the college won the "Special Award for Student Affairs" and the "Special Award for Employment Work" at Shanghai Jiao Tong University for two consecutive years. It has established an alumni work ecosystem, enriched alumni activities, and united alumni strength. Through online media publicity, cultural space publicity, and the construction of the college's IP, the influence of SPEIT continues to expand. The number of admissions reached a new historical high.

Lu Jialiang, the Vice Dean in charge of teaching, presented the college's achievements in curriculum construction, talent cultivation model reform, teaching quality control, textbook development, and supporting the growth of young teachers over the past year through detailed data. The college has deepened educational reform, comprehensively improved teaching quality, strengthened the connotation of curriculum construction, and continuously deepened the integration of industry, academia, and research in talent cultivation. It has built a Sino-French intelligent education platform to enhance overall teaching standards and talent cultivation quality.

Zhong Shengyi, the Vice Dean in charge of scientific research and industry-university cooperation, focused on the college's scientific research and industry-university work. Since the beginning of the year, the college has continuously promoted organized scientific research and industry-university cooperation, and has initially explored a development model that progresses layer by layer in three aspects: disciplinary direction layout, scientific research platform construction, and talent cultivation. The college has made new breakthroughs in cutting-edge scientific research, achieved new progress in major instrument construction, steadily increased the number of scientific research projects, and entered a dual-improvement track in the quantity and quality of papers. A new industry-university agreement has opened a new journey of cooperation.
After the meeting, the faculty members of the college conducted a democratic assessment of the leadership team.
By adhering to the correct principles and innovating, and by taking practical actions, the meeting comprehensively showcased the development achievements of the SPEIT over the past year. It further gathered the belief and strength of all teachers and students to strive forward and strengthened their determination to promote the development of the college. In the new year, the college will continue to explore new paths and models for interdisciplinary innovation and industry-university joint training, and strive to make the college a world-renowned institute for training outstanding engineers.
