On the afternoon of March 29th, the 2025 Graduate Ceremony and Engineer Title Granting Ceremony of the SPEIT was grandly held in the auditorium of the Li Zhengdao Library.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Lin Hua, Advisor to the President of the Asia Campus of SKEMA Business School, Mr. Liu Qiang, Director of Information Technology and Systems at Valeo Group, Ms. Yang Qian, Human Resources Manager at Valeo Group, Mr. Zhou Bin, Senior Manager of R&D at Schneider Electric, Mr. Zhao Sixuan, Personnel Officer at the Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute; Vice President of Graduate Studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Mr. Zhang Wenming, Director of the Student Innovation Center, Mr. Liu Shengli, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Mr. Guo Liang, Deputy Director of the Alumni Association Office, Ms. Chen Yue; Secretary of the Party Committee and Chinese Dean of the SPEIT, Ms. Chen Cailian, French Dean Zied Moumni, Vice Deans Lu Jialiang and Zhong Shengyi, Director of the Innovation Center Wei Guanghua, Visiting Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University Francois Cauneau, representatives of Chinese and foreign faculty and alumni, and about 300 family and friends of the graduates. The ceremony was hosted by Yao Xue, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, and outstanding graduate representative Guan Xinyuan.

The theme of this graduation ceremony is "Yi’Ba." As a homophone for "18," "Yi’Ba" symbolizes the wonderful times that the 2025 graduates have spent at the SPEIT since their enrollment in 2018.
Chapter 1: Original Aspiration and Excellence

Elisabeth Crépon, President of the ENSTA, represented the four French partner institutions in her speech. She first congratulated the 79 graduates and their families and friends, and expressed her gratitude to all the faculty and staff of SPEIT for their hard work. President Crépon noted that the 2025 graduates have not only completed the rigorous engineering training program but also developed unique cross-cultural communication skills through their studies in both Chinese and French cultural environments. She expressed her expectations for the 2025 graduates, hoping that they will maintain their passion for learning, pursue excellence in their respective fields, and take on the special mission of promoting Sino-French exchanges, becoming a bridge between the two countries.

In her speech, Chen Cailian highlighted the outstanding achievements of the graduates in scientific research innovation, international exchanges, and cultural and sports activities. She said that the growth trajectories of these excellent students vividly reflect the college's educational philosophy of "strong foundation, diversity, global vision, and industry elites." She also put forward three expectations for the graduates: first, to maintain a lifelong learning attitude and keep up with the cutting edge of technological development; second, to adhere to engineering ethics and serve social development with technological innovation; and third, to pay attention to work-life balance and cultivate a healthy and positive mindset.

Zied Moumni, in his speech, emphasized that in the face of global challenges, he expects graduates to maintain a lifelong learning attitude and meet major issues such as climate change and energy crises with an open and inclusive mind, always maintaining a humble and inquisitive heart.

As a corporate representative, Liu Qiang said that the graduates of the Paris Institute have both algorithmic logic and humanistic wisdom, and have the potential to lead technological change. He stressed that AI is reshaping the automotive industry, and the sector urgently needs interdisciplinary innovative talents. He pointed out that innovation needs to integrate cutting-edge technology with engineering practice and break through imagination while ensuring safety.

Lin Hua, as a representative of Sino-French educational cooperation, highly praised the unique educational model of the SPEIT, which integrates Chinese vitality and French excellence. He cited global well-known enterprises and industry leaders as examples to inspire graduates to play to their strengths at the intersection of cross-cultural and interdisciplinary fields, bravely create the future, and shine on the world stage.
Chapter 2: Harvest and Gratitude
In the second chapter, the graduates, parents, and guests watched together as representatives of the college faculty offered their blessings to the graduates. The teachers, drawing on their own teaching experiences, encouraged the students to maintain their passion for learning and continue to uphold the spirit of engineering in their future careers.
Zhang Wenming, Chen Cailian, Zied Moumni, Lu Jialiang, Zhong Shengyi, Wei Guanghua, and Francois Cauneau took the stage to present the graduates with their master's degree certificates, academic certificates, and engineer title certificates, and took a group photo.

Zhang Wenming, Liu Shengli, Chen Cailian, Zied Moumni, and Guo Liang presented certificates to five outstanding graduates of Shanghai and took a group photo.


Liu Qiang, Yang Qian, Zhou Bin, and Zhao Sixuan presented certificates to 14 outstanding graduates of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and took a group photo.

Outstanding graduate of the 2025 class, Zeng Hongchuan, spoke. He reviewed his academic experience at SPEIT, thanked the college for providing an international platform and the dual-degree program, which helped students enhance their professional abilities and cross-cultural communication skills. He shared his insights on artificial intelligence research and said that the support from the college had enabled him to obtain an internship with an international organization and establish a research direction of "developing inclusive language technology." He specifically mentioned the rigorous academic training and practical projects of the college, which improved his professional foundation and problem-solving abilities. Finally, he expressed his gratitude to his teachers and wished his fellow graduates to shine in their respective fields.

Graduates of the 2025 master's program, Feng Yuqin and Ai Yiming, led all the graduates in taking an oath.

Director Chen Yue presented appointment letters to three class leaders of the 2025 class, Liu Benyuan, Jiang Zeyu, and Zhou Jinghao.

The graduation ceremony also held the second alumni mentor appointment ceremony. Chen Cailian and Zied Moumni presented appointment letters and the college mascot Linglong to six alumni mentors: Ren Jia, Wang Jinyuan, Zhang Leying, Li Jia, Yu Tao, and Huang Suizhi.
Then, the session entered the gift exchange between graduate representatives and the college and parents.

The college presented all the graduates with college cultural shirts and canvas bags, hoping that the graduates would always carry the college's care with them.

The graduates presented the college with an exquisite cloisonné commemorative plate, symbolizing the college's meticulous cultivation of the students.


Ms. Ruan Jing, on behalf of all parents, presented the graduates with passport holders engraved with the students' names and mugs bearing the college logo. Ms. Ruan Jing wished all the children a bright future, to continue creating brilliance and glory, and also thanked the college teachers for their meticulous cultivation over the past 6.5 years.
Chapter 3: Dreams and Launch
In the third chapter, the graduates, parents, and guests watched together a graduation commemorative video titled "Yi’Ba," produced by the graduates. The humorous and warm scenes and words in the video caused a burst of laughter and applause.

In addition, the college prepared a time capsule for the 2025 graduates. The letters written by the graduates to "themselves in ten years" will be carefully kept by the college, to be witnessed together in 2035. Student representatives Liu Benyuan and Zhou Jinghao sealed the time capsule.

Finally, the graduation ceremony concluded with a performance of "Just Twenty-Three" by the SPEIT A Cappella Choir.
