On the afternoon of April 10th, the announcement meeting for the appointment and removal of the Secretary at the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held in the auditorium of the Sino-French Building. Vice President Hu Weiwei of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Director of the Organization Department Fang Xi, members of the college's leadership team, and all faculty members attended the meeting, which was chaired by Fang Xi.

Fang Xi, on behalf of the Party Committee of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, read the decision on the appointment and removal of cadres, announcing that Comrade Xiong Zhenhua would be the new Secretary of the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology, while Chen Cailian would concurrently serve as the Deputy Secretary, with her previous position as Secretary being relieved.

Xiong Zhenhua made a speech on his new appointment. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the trust and training provided by the university, stating that he would adhere to the six-character requirements of "cleanliness, responsibility, and loyalty," be honest and dedicated, and actively engage in the overall development of the college. He noted that in the face of the complex and changing international situation, the college is presented with significant development opportunities. As the newly appointed Secretary, he will closely collaborate with the college's leadership team, continuously strengthen the leading role of Party building, unite the strength of teachers and students, and contribute to the high-level construction of the college.

Dean Chen Cailian of the Chinese side expressed her firm support for the decision of the university's Committee and warmly welcomed Xiong Zhenhua on behalf of the college. She reviewed his connections with the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology in various leadership positions, especially during his tenure as the Secretary of the university's Student Innovation Center, where he provided significant assistance in resolving teaching laboratory resources and supporting international student innovation competitions. She highlighted that the college is currently in a critical period of "secondary entrepreneurship," focusing on the comprehensive promotion of the "14th Five-Year Plan" summary and the formulation of the "15th Five-Year Plan," with a strong emphasis on high-level faculty construction, research team cultivation, top-notch talent training in "mathematics + AI + engineering," and the reshaping of the "AI + HI" (Artificial Intelligence + Human Intelligence) curriculum system. She specifically mentioned that Comrade Xiong Zhenhua's profound academic background and accumulation in the field of mechanical engineering, especially robotics, will bring new opportunities and development momentum to the college's key areas such as mechanical engineering and energy and power engineering, further promoting the college's multidisciplinary coordinated development and balanced layout.

Dean Zied MOUMNI of the French side expressed his full support for Professor Xiong Zhenhua's appointment as the Secretary of the college. He noted that Professor Xiong has demonstrated exceptional leadership and outstanding collaborative spirit throughout his career, successfully uniting teams from diverse backgrounds. This spirit is highly aligned with the college's values of emphasizing teamwork and cross-cultural communication. He emphasized that the college is at a critical juncture in its historical development, more than ever in need of innovative thinking, perseverance, and a collaborative attitude. He firmly believes that with Professor Xiong's addition, the college will continue to make breakthroughs in engineering, education, and research, expanding its influence. He looks forward to working hand in hand with Secretary Xiong Zhenhua and Dean Chen Cailian to create a brighter future for the college.

Hu Weiwei concluded the meeting with a summary speech. She highlighted that the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology has a high starting point and clear positioning, being an important part of the university's internationalization strategy. Over the past decade, the college has achieved a series of accomplishments in international talent cultivation and international cooperation and exchange. Faced with the profound changes in the current global landscape, the college needs to actively respond to the uncertainties of the external environment and create new opportunities amid changes.

Hu Weiwei put forward four expectations for the college's future work: First, to continuously strengthen and expand the cultivation of international innovative talents, consolidate the long-term and stable cooperative relationship between China and France, and reinforce the "Outstanding Engineers" brand. Second, to continuously improve the quality of education, deepen the integrated undergraduate and graduate training, achieve full-process quality closed-loop management, and actively align with national strategic needs. Third, to continuously build a high-level faculty team, fully leverage the platform advantages of relevant disciplines of the university, and promote the unification of individual faculty development with the overall goals of the college, forming a positive talent growth ecosystem. Fourth, to create a good atmosphere for entrepreneurship, unite the strength of Chinese and French teachers, students, and alumni, and actively promote the entire chain of work from "admission - training - employment - alumni."

The college will take this meeting as a new starting point, unify consensus, unite and strive forward, adhere to the concept of open education, live up to the mission and expectations, and with a more proactive attitude, comprehensively promote higher-quality development. It will work hard to accelerate the construction of a world-class college of outstanding engineers, continuously demonstrate the mission and responsibility of a benchmark in Sino-foreign cooperative education, and continue to contribute to Sino-foreign educational exchanges and global engineering talent cultivation.
