01

Diversified development at SPEIT

Huang Tianyang graduated from SFLS in high school and, after entering SPEIT, received several scholarships from SJTU and SPEIT for his excellent academic achievements and won several prizes in competitions. He is also a member of SJTU's high-level artistic group, and has performed with the ensemble in over a dozen performances at all levels. At the same time, he actively participates in student work and club activities, contributing to his fellow students and the university. In his second year, he became the head of SPEIT's Science, Technology and Innovation Center, organizing dozens of diverse activities and helping to organize SPEIT's robotics team.

From zero to C1 in French, he enters Ecole Polytechnique

Huang Tianyang achieved the TCF C1 in a year and a half from his first year of university, with a lot of listening practice and the accumulation of expressions. In his third year, he passed the competitive entrance exam with excellent French and a solid grounding in mathematics and science, and entered École Polytechnique to study for a double master's degree in two and a half years. It was at the École Polytechnique that he discovered fencing and developed a keen interest in the sport. As École Polytechnique is one of France's leading institutions of higher education and scientific research, he seized the rare opportunity to broaden his academic horizons by specializing in artificial intelligence and robotics, where he came into contact with various sub-fields of unmanned vehicles, thus laying a solid academic foundation for his future scientific research and career. In addition to courses related to his specialty, he was deeply inspired by Professor Stanislas Dehaene's neuroscience course, which shaped his worldview by condensing the most cutting-edge contemporary perspectives on brain science, research methodologies and open research topics.

Exploring the frontiers of autonomous driving

During his studies in France, he also completed several high-quality corporate research internships. In 2022, he took part in the development of a multimodal model at AI startup Hrflow.ai, where he built from scratch a deep learning model capable of implementing text-image recall tasks in the field of human resources. The model produced, after continuous iteration, was presented a year later at the CVPR workshop, a leading international AI conference, and at Vivatech, one of Europe's largest technology exhibitions. In 2023, he participated in the research of a perception and localization system for autonomous driving at the French advanced defense technology company SYSNAV, where he learned and accumulated advanced technologies and practical experience in a number of specialized fields. He learned and accumulated advanced technologies and practical experience in a number of specialized fields. He also participated in remote projects and research work within his research group, then seamlessly connected to his research work in China on his return. After returning to China, he successfully completed his master's studies at SJTU with a GPA of 4.0, and actively consolidated the cutting-edge knowledge and industrial experience he had gained at home and abroad, and successfully published a high-quality paper in CCDC 2024, an authoritative international conference in the field of control and decision-making. In 2024, he completed a six-month internship as an algorithm engineer at Weride, the world's first listed company in autonomous driving technology, as an algorithm engineer intern, contributing to the development of China's networked intelligent vehicle industry.
