Morocco Stop: Deepening Cooperation in STEM Talent Cultivation

On the morning of May 12, the delegation visited Le Philosophe, a renowned international school in Casablanca with over 20 years of history and a strong focus on science education. During the meeting, Principal Salahdine Nabigha showcased student-designed drone projects, highlighting the school's emphasis on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Both principals expressed interest in establishing cooperation to cultivate engineering talents with global perspectives.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited Valley School, where Principal Karim Tahri stated: "We have long followed China's development, especially top institutions like SJTU. We're honored to host this delegation." He noted their students' strong science background and interest in Chinese culture. Dean Moumni suggested introducing Chinese language and culture courses, which was well-received. During the recruitment session, Zhu Sinan presented in French while Boukili answered questions in Arabic, generating enthusiastic responses from students expressing strong interest in studying in China.

AL MAKRIZI

On May 13, the delegation visited AL MAKRIZI Education Group in Rabat, Morocco's capital. As Rabat's most prestigious K12 private institution, the group is nationally renowned for academic excellence, with 99% of graduates receiving "très bien" (excellent) ratings in national exams.

Dean Moumni remarked: "We see Morocco's thriving quality basic education, but also note limited local understanding of China's higher education system - an area needing strengthened cooperation." He emphasized SPEIT's unique "Sino-French double degree" program as a new development option for Moroccan students.

Following the meeting, Boukili and Zhu conducted an engaging presentation for AL MAKRIZI high school students, who actively inquired about scholarships and majors.

France Stop: Expanding Quality Student Recruitment Channels

From May 15-16, Wei Xin, Ou Yafei and Zhu Sinan conducted recruitment sessions in France. At Lycée Descartes d'Antony, they detailed SJTU's international degree programs and SPEIT's full-French curriculum to the principal. The school, with 1,300 students and a 96% baccalaureate pass rate in 2023, saw students enthusiastically inquiring about SPEIT's integrated preparatory-engineering program and dual-degree options.

Institut de la Tour

The team also visited Paris' prestigious Institut de la Tour, meeting with Chinese language teachers. Wei and Zhu presented degree and non-degree programs to the Chinese department. Teacher representative Yuan Zhongjun noted many science-oriented Chinese language learners found new motivation through these programs, which also provide future study opportunities in China.

This visit effectively enhanced SPEIT's influence in Moroccan and French basic education circles through targeted school engagements, laying solid groundwork for attracting global top talents.
