
On the morning of June 6th, the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT) successfully held its second Quality Enhancement Committee meeting to optimize talent development and integrate Chinese and French engineering education standards.
The hybrid meeting brought together representatives from academia and industry. Valeo IT Director Liu Qiang, Dassault Systèmes CATIA Technical Director for Greater China Wen Hongyu, Schneider Electric Senior Recruitment Manager Doris Qian, Huawei AI Business Supervisor Lian Hao, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute Wang Hongchang, Engineer from the China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute Yan Xiaoyu, and SPEIT leaders including Party Secretary Xiong Zhenhua, Chinese Dean Chen Cuilian, French Dean Zied MOUMNI, Vice Dean Lu Jialiang, and Dean Assistant Wang Shaobo attended. Representatives from French partner universities, faculty, students, and alumni also participated.

Zied MOUMNI welcomed the guests, highlighting the committee's crucial role in the institute's strategic development and the importance of industry collaboration in driving innovation and keeping curricula cutting-edge.
Lu Jialiang presented the latest curriculum reforms, including optimizing credit structures, integrating AI, and enhancing industry collaboration. Assistant Professor Shang Xiaoqing showcased the integration of mechanical engineering and AI, reflecting the institute's cross-disciplinary teaching efforts.


In discussions, representatives emphasized aligning courses with industry trends, strengthening system engineer training, and deepening AI integration. Enterprises shared successful collaboration experiences and proposed expanding cooperation in curriculum design, internships, and industry-academia-research projects. The meeting also addressed student development, stressing the need to enhance global perspectives alongside professional skills.


Xiong Zhenhua praised the discussions, noting the importance of balancing fundamental research with practical applications and fostering innovation through projects and internships.
Chen Cailian, in her closing remarks, thanked participants for their valuable input, which will guide the institute's future development. She emphasized that the institute will continue to advance connotative development through industry collaboration, aiming to produce more high-quality outcomes for training elite engineers.

Looking ahead, SPEIT will leverage the Quality Enhancement Committee platform to gather diverse viewpoints and enhance teaching quality.
The meeting was also attended online by Sébastien REYMOND, Kim Pham, Nicolas PROST, Gaëlle LE GOFF, Christopher CRIPPS, and Jean-François NAVINER from French partner institutions, and offline by Wei Guanghua, Fredy TABOURIN, Gong Helin, and alumni Du Xinyuan, Yu Li, Wang Yuxuan, and Sheng Puceng.
