SUSTAINABLE

Before the defense presentation, Lu Jialiang, in his triple role as an alumnus of Guangming High School, a French-educated engineer, and a college administrator, had an amiable exchange with young students from China and France. He carefully inquired about the students' learning gains and praised their enthusiasm for participation. He particularly emphasized: "It is hoped that students can inspire each other and grow together in a cross-cultural learning environment, transforming what they have seen and learned into practical actions to promote sustainable development."

The summer camp was divided into five groups, each presenting sustainable development plans proposed after two weeks of study and field research. Whether in new energy applications or rural ecological transformation, everyone put forward new ideas and solutions from a cross-cultural perspective.
One group was deeply inspired by the inspection of Yucun, recognizing the practical problem of the growing distance between humans and nature in the process of urbanization. By developing an AR ecological identification app, users can discover hidden biodiversity around them through their mobile phones, transforming boring environmental protection knowledge into interesting interactive experiences. They cleverly grasped the digital lifestyle habits of young people, making ecological protection a natural daily behavior and demonstrating the new thinking of Generation Z in solving environmental problems.

As a special jury guest, Zied MOUMNI said: "This summer school not only builds a bridge of knowledge but also allows the younger generation to witness China's innovative exploration in the field of sustainable development with their own eyes."

Xiong Zhenhua, together with Zhu Xiaowei and Zhao Chengbing, awarded the 2025 International Summer School completion certificates to the students.

In his speech, Xiong Zhenhua emphasized: "True education lies in the collision of cross-cultural thinking. This certificate not only carries the knowledge and skills you have gained in the field of sustainable development but also symbolizes your responsibilities and missions as global citizens. It is hoped that you will transform this experience into a force to build a better future."

Zhu Xiaowei said: "Thank you very much to SPEIT for its careful design and preparation, allowing students from Guangming High School to participate. These projects have both an international vision and are rooted in real-world needs, cultivating the sense of responsibility and global awareness of the younger generation."

SUSTAINABLE

During the tea break, the summer school students gathered with the college teachers. Everyone chatted freely, sharing the unforgettable experiences and gains of the past two weeks. The sound of conversation, laughter, and the soft clinking of cups and saucers intertwined, and the entire space was filled with a warm and lively atmosphere.
Facing the future, SPEIT will continue to promote Sino-French educational exchanges and docking with global issues, further polishing the summer course system with the core of "engineering + language + global vision". It is expected that more young people from China and France will gather here, learning from real problems, colliding ideas in a multicultural environment, and condensing actions in common concerns, making the summer school not only a classroom of knowledge but also a bridge connecting the world, breeding responsibility, and innovation.
