SPEIT undergraduate students Tong Siyu and Chen Qian win Best Presentation Award at ICRMS 2025 International Conference

08.05/2025 91

On July 29, Tong Siyu, a 2021 undergraduate student, Hu Jiaqi, a 2022 undergraduate student, and Chen Qian, a 2023 undergraduate student from SPEIT, delivered oral presentations at The 16th International Conference on Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety (ICRMS2025). Their papers were indexed by EI, and Tong Siyu and Chen Qian were each awarded the Best Presentation Award.

The International Conference on Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety (ICRMS) is the largest, highest-level, and most influential international academic conference on reliability, maintainability, and safety (RMS) in the Asia-Pacific region with the longest history. It was jointly initiated by seven leading Chinese academic societies.

Tong Siyu presented the paper titled “Roller Heat Treatment Workshop Scheduling Using Reinforcement Learning” at the conference. The paper was based on a project commissioned by Baosteel and was completed by Tong Siyu and Guo Deng under the guidance of Associate Professor Qiu Siqi. The paper established an optimization model for batch production in roller heat treatment workshops, designed and implemented an optimization algorithm based on reinforcement learning, and can automatically generate adaptive production scheduling plans for roller heat treatment workshops.

Hu Jiaqi presented a paper titled “Optimizing Tool Maintenance and Replacement Strategies in High-Speed Cutting Operations via Reinforcement Learning” at the conference. The paper was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and completed by Hu Jiaqi, Huang Jiayi, and Xia Yinheng under the guidance of Associate Professor Qiu Siqi. The paper established an optimization model for the maintenance of multiple cutting tools on a production line, designed and implemented an optimization algorithm based on multi-agent reinforcement learning, and can automatically generate adaptive maintenance scheduling plans for tools.

Chen Qian presented a paper titled “Reliability-Based Optimization of Location and Scale for Metro Maintenance Depots” at the conference. The paper was completed by Chen Qian, Chen Shiyuan, and Wu Yudi under the guidance of Associate Professor Qiu Siqi, as part of the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan project. The paper addresses the topological structure of metro networks, using Dijkstra's algorithm to search for the shortest path between metro stations and maintenance depots, with the goal of minimizing the weighted distance sum to optimize the location of metro maintenance depots. It also constructs a reliability model for maintenance depots that considers the supply and demand of maintenance resources, with the goal of maximizing system reliability to optimize the staffing of metro maintenance depots.
