On the evening of November 14, the first session of Le Coin Français ("French Corner"), jointly organized by the Student Affairs Office and the French Teaching Group of SPEIT, was held successfully in Room 205 of the SPEIT Building. The event was co-hosted by French teaching assistant Oxcélyne AMO and Mr. Marco from the Student Affairs Office.
The inaugural session, titled "Jeux de Connaissance" (Ice-breaker Games), attracted 15 Chinese students and 5 French international students, forming a vibrant multicultural community. The atmosphere was lively and relaxed, with constant interaction and laughter.
At the beginning, each participant received a Fiche de rencontre containing 20 interesting questions such as: “Qui aime les mathématiques ?” (Who likes mathematics?) “Qui adore la pizza ?” (Who loves pizza?)
Students moved around the room to converse in French, ask questions, and record names. This activity helped beginners take the first step in French communication while enabling everyone to get to know each other quickly.
In the second part of the event, participants formed groups of 4–5 and completed challenges based on the Boîte de mission (Mission Box): Draw cards；Q&A tasks； Improvised speaking; Interactive mini-games … Each card brought a new surprise, prompting enthusiastic participation. Students spoke French confidently in a relaxed environment, making new friends and discovering the cultural joy beyond language learning.

Future French Corner events will feature Scenario-based dialogues, Cultural quizzes, French film excerpts, Real-time language feedback
As a Sino-French cultural exchange platform launched by SPEIT, Le Coin Français is open to the entire university, welcoming students and faculty from all departments to participate.
The event aims to foster international perspectives, deepen Sino-French mutual understanding, and build a dynamic multicultural community through language and cultural exchange.
