
On December 10, Ren Youqun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, led a delegation to conduct research at SJTU and held discussions with SJTU President Ding Kuiling.


The delegation conducted visits to SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology, SJTU Global College and Tang Junyuan Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, toured the Exhibition of SJTU of SJTU Global College and the Yu Liming Student Center. They received a work report on the university's international talent cultivation system development and held discussions with university administrators and relevant department directors at Longbin Building.
Liu Weidong delivered a report on SJTU's international education initiatives. He outlined the university's journey toward internationalization, its global talent development programs, and its international student education efforts. He emphasized that Shanghai Jiao Tong University is committed to becoming a great destination for outstanding young scholars worldwide, a key part in the global higher education ecosystem and the international innovation network.
Zhu Haojin, Chairman of the GC Council of SJTU Global College, delivered a report on the college's international education initiatives, showcasing its educational practices in cultivating globally-minded innovative talents.
Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on major topics such as opening up education in the new era, focusing on optimizing the layout of international exchange programs, leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance international Chinese language education, cultivating innovation capabilities among international students, and guiding students toward internships and practical experiences in international organizations.
Ren Youqun fully affirmed the achievements made in the development of Shanghai Jiao Tong University's international cooperative education initiatives. He emphasized that in advancing the new journey of offering better education, Shanghai Jiao Tong University must courageously shoulder its mission and strive to set an example. The university should prioritize internationalization as a key driver for talent cultivation, innovate mechanisms for international talent development, strengthen the dissemination of Chinese culture, organically integrate Chinese language education into the international student training system, and cultivate more international talents who understand and are friendly toward China.
