The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of SJTU Visits SPEIT to Advance International Talent Development

On December 24, Ma Wei, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), led a delegation to visit SPEIT for research and held discussions with Chen Cailian, Chinese Dean of SPEIT, regarding international student recruitment. Zhang Yang, Wei Xin, Shen Lili, Qi Guifang, Li Junyan, Jin Xiaoqing, and Zhu Sinan participated in this meeting.

 

 

At the meeting, Qi Guifang provided a detailed report on the progress and development plans for SPEIT's international education initiatives. She noted that in recent years, SPEIT's international enrollment efforts have achieved continuous breakthroughs, with enrollment scale steadily expanding and student quality continuously improving, forming an international enrollment system that is both distinctive and competitive. Aligned with the “15th Five-Year Plan” development goals, SPEIT has clearly defined the direction for upgrading its international enrollment strategy. SPEIT is continuously optimizing training programs and improving management and service mechanisms in the international student cultivation process, focusing on enhancing the quality of international student education. Qi Guifang stated that SPEIT is fully committed to advancing toward its goal of “becoming a sought-after destination for outstanding young talents worldwide and securing a leading position within the global higher education system,” implementing concrete measures to deepen the essence of its internationalization efforts.

 

 

Ma Wei commended SPEIT's achievements in internationalization over recent years, noting that SPEIT has demonstrated a clear path and solid measures in deeply integrating internationalization into the core aspects of talent cultivation, reflecting a high sense of responsibility and commitment. He emphasized that the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange endorses SPEIT's five-year internationalization blueprint and will actively collaborate to advance the implementation of all tasks. The office will prioritize supporting SPEIT's exploration in areas such as innovative international talent cultivation models and the refinement of scholarship systems, helping SPEIT further leverage its exemplary role and establish itself as the “pioneer” of SJTU's international education initiatives.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chen Cailian expressed gratitude on behalf of SPEIT for the long-standing support from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. She stated that SPEIT is actively exploring new pathways for internationalization. Moving forward, SPEIT will continue to strengthen its distinctive advantages, focusing on the entire chain of international student recruitment, cultivation, and development. It will introduce more innovative initiatives and collaborative projects to continuously enhance educational quality and international influence, attract more outstanding international students to pursue advanced studies, and strive to cultivate talents who understand and are friendly toward China, possessing both global perspectives and professional capabilities. SPEIT is committed to building a model for internationalization at SJTU.
