03.22/2026 0

SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology deeply integrates high-quality educational resources from China and France, with a mission to cultivate outstanding engineering leaders equipped with global competence. SPEIT has innovatively established a “four-in-one” international faculty matrix, bringing together a multi-dimensional teaching force comprising full-time faculty members from the School, faculty from Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s leading disciplines, elite professors from partner institutions in France, and technical experts from top multinational corporations. This faculty is responsible for teaching foundational theory and guiding students in engineering practice, graduation projects, and other innovative activities.

In March of the spring semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, SPEIT fully leverages the strengths of its Sino-French collaborative education program by inviting seven distinguished professors from France’s top engineering schools, as well as corporate executives, to deliver lectures to the students.

While they are educated with the same scientific and technical disciplines, while they have to deal with the same kind of problems, do French and Chinese engineers think in the same way? How production patterns, innovation and Human management-models or tools are travelling between countries? This course provides an introduction to the understanding of issues of Human Resource Management as part of multicultural relations in the management of global firms. The purpose of this module is to make students aware of relativity and variability of knowledge and tools, be they managerial knowledge and tools or science and technology knowledge. Using case studies and texts, this course will use a very proven method to raise awareness of these issues: the study of socio-technical controversies. For engineering students, this perspective is especially important to make them able to act in a global world. If this is true for the technical matter, it is even more true for the management techniques. By mobilizing their knowledge of theories, research methods and concepts they have to bring French and foreign students to become aware of the "cultural" nature of objects apparently most objective and universal. This course will be based on a set of case studies. It was designed to educate students about the importance of multidisciplinary approaches and the combination of technical and managerial dimensions in multicultural relationship.

Combustion represents today 90% of energy production in the world (electricity, thrust, power, heat). Fossil fuels (gasoline, diesel, jet fuels) and fossil combustibles (natural gas, coal) are preeminent today. International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that this situation will hold at last the next 15 years and perhaps more.  This course aims at providing the main fundamental aspects of Combustion. We will focus all the aspects of this field.
