Highlights from the 2026 'ΣPoster' Poster Day at the SPEIT

05.01/2026 4

On the afternoon of April 24, the 2026 'ΣPoster' Academic Poster Day of the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology was held on the first floor of the Student Center. The event was attended by Xiong Zhenhua, SPEIT’s secretary; Zied Moumni, French Dean; Lu Jialiang, Associate Dean; and Lü Jiangying, associatesecretary. The atmosphere was lively and crowded. More than thirty undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students from all grade levels of the School presented their academic posters and engaged in face-to-face exchanges with the teachers and students present. The event was hosted by Xing Xiaoyu, a second-year student of the Science and Innovation Center of the Student Union.

Poster's Day

As a key academic exchange event developed by the School, the "ΣPoster" Academic Poster Day aims to provide an open and inclusive platform for students from different disciplines and at different stages of their studies to present and exchange ideas. The posters cover various fields such as mechanics, energy and power, electronic information, and materials science and engineering. Using data charts, design illustrations, and other visual formats, the participating students vividly presented their research approaches and preliminary findings.

This event, held at the student center, attracted faculty and students from many departments across the university to observe and exchange ideas. Interactions and discussions were natural and enthusiastic. Upper-year students actively shared their research experiences and personal reflections on their academic journey, helping less experienced students build a tangible understanding of academic exploration. Many international students and faculty members also took part, adding a rich international dimension to the poster day.

Popularity Award & Best Academic Value Award

To enhance interactivity, the event established a "Best Academic Value Award" and a "Popularity Award", determined by on-site voting by the public.

Popularity Award

Paul BATS for his poster "Mechanistic Study of Solute Clustering in Reactor Pressure Vessel Materials Using Atom Probe Tomography", WANG Boxuan for his poster "Microporous Layer Engineering towards Wide-Range Operating Conditions in PEyFCs", and JIANG Baoxin for his poster "Industrial RL for Nuclear Core Control". Lu Jialiang, Associate Dean of the school, and Lü Jiangying, associatesecretary, presented the awards to the winning students.

Best Academic Value Award

The poster presented by student ZHU Tianchi, titled "Advancing Spatial Computing Unified Compression to Neural 3D Reconstruction", won the Best Academic Value Award. Xiong Zhenhua presented the award to the student.

At the end of the event, Xiong Zhenhua delivered a closing speech. He pointed out that "Σ" not only represents summation, but also symbolizes the spirit of bringing together diverse intelligences and exploring unknown fields. Unlike last year, when the event was held on the first floor of the SPEIT, this year "ΣPoster" made its debut at a university-level in the student center, attracting faculty and students from many departments across the campus, who stopped by and participated. This effectively broke down barriers between disciplines and departments, allowing more students to get a close-up view of scientific research and to better understand the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology. He expressed the hope that "ΣPoster" will continue to be held, further promoting regular cross-grade, cross-disciplinary, and cross-departmental exchanges, and fostering a culture where interdisciplinarity and innovation truly flourish within the School.

This edition of the "ΣPoster" was not only a showcase of research results, but also an important practice for intellectual exchange and academic growth. In the future, the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology will continue to rely on high-quality academic activities to build an increasingly open and diverse innovation platform, encourage more students to engage in academic exploration, grow through exchange, and inovate through practice. See you next time!
