

First, on behalf of the institute, Chen Cailian warmly welcomed Dean Fabrizio DUGHIERO and his delegation, and spoke highly of the University of Padua's strong reputation and academic achievements in the field of higher international education. Afterward, International Affairs Specialist Zhu Sinan provided a comprehensive overview of the institute's development history, disciplinary achievements, talent cultivation model, outcomes of university-industry collaborative education, and results in student international exchanges and admissions, fully demonstrating the institute's educational strengths and international development philosophy.
Right after, Fabrizio DUGHIERO provided a detailed introduction of the University of Padua and its school of Industrial Engineering, focusing on the school's distinctive features and advantages in talent cultivation, scientific research, and disciplinary development. According to the introduction, the University of Padua was founded in 1222 and is one of the oldest top universities in Europe and a world-leading research university. It currently has over 70,000 enrolled students, more than 8,000 international students (from 140 countries and regions), over 3,000 teaching and research staff, 32 departments, and 8 schools, placing its educational scale and academic influence among the world's forefront.
During the exchange, Chen Cailian emphasized the high importance that our institute places on international development. She expressed that she had long been aware of the profound heritage of the University of Padua and its outstanding strength in academic research and talent cultivation as a top European university. She felt honored to have the opportunity for face-to-face communication with the delegation and to build a bridge of cooperation between the two sides. She specifically noted that the University of Padua shares many similarities with our university, both being comprehensive universities with long histories, and that the majors offered by the School of Industrial Engineering at the University of Padua are also highly compatible with those of our institute.
Xiong Zhenhua praised the international education philosophy of the School of Industrial Engineering at the University of Padua. He pointed out that the school began developing English-taught programs as early as over a decade ago. Currently, out of its 6 undergraduate programs and 7 master's programs, 6 are fully taught in English, reflecting the forward-looking vision of its international education and laying a solid foundation for future joint talent cultivation and academic exchanges between the two sides.
During the talks, the two sides also conducted in-depth discussions and exchanged views on core issues such as sharing high-quality educational resources and establishing summer exchange programs on innovation and entrepreneurship. Broad consensus was reached in many areas of cooperation, laying the groundwork for advancing specific collaborations and achieving mutual benefits.
