To enhance safety awareness and emergency response capabilities among faculty and students during Campus Work Safety Month, SPEIT organized a fun safety knowledge challenge event in the institute’s first-floor lobby on June 10 under the theme: “Everyone Values Safety and Knows How to Respond to Emergencies — Identifying and Eliminating Potential Risks and Hazards.” Breaking away from traditional lecture-based safety education, the event adopted an immersive and interactive format that combined learning with entertainment, enabling Chinese and international faculty members and students to learn safety knowledge, develop emergency response skills, and identify potential hazards around them in a relaxed atmosphere.

During this Work Safety Month event, I participated in activities related to fire safety knowledge and the inspection of campus fire safety facilities. One of the most memorable activities was locating fire hydrants throughout the SPEIT building. By identifying the locations and functions of fire safety equipment on site, I further strengthened my awareness of fire safety and realized the importance of knowing where emergency facilities are located. The activities were engaging and enjoyable, and I learned a great deal from them.

Today’s Work Safety Month event was both informative and engaging. It included exciting challenges as well as practical first-aid and fire safety training. Experiencing these activities firsthand made me realize that safety knowledge and emergency skills must be reinforced through practice. I hope more activities like this will be organized in the future.

I participated in several safety-related games during this Work Safety Month event. The experience was both enjoyable and rewarding. Not only did I become familiar with the locations of fire hydrants, but I also had the opportunity to learn and practice CPR. I gained a great deal of practical fire safety knowledge.

This Work Safety Month event featured innovative activities and highly practical content. Through the different challenges, I realized that safety awareness should not remain a slogan but must be reflected in our daily actions. Through hazard identification exercises, the fire safety facility hunt, and hands-on CPR training, I gained a clearer understanding of campus safety risks and emergency response methods. In my future studies and daily life, I will pay closer attention to potential hazards around me and contribute to maintaining a safe and orderly campus environment.

Overall, I found the activities highly diverse, combining immersive experiences with knowledge-based assessments. Every challenge was meaningful and engaging. One activity I found particularly interesting was the Fire Safety Facility Hunt. People often overlook the locations of fire safety equipment such as fire extinguishers. In this challenge, participants were required to memorize the locations of fire safety facilities on a floor within five seconds and then locate a fire extinguisher on site and take a photo. Physically searching for the equipment not only strengthened my memory but was also extremely practical. Another activity I enjoyed was the Safety Sprint knowledge quiz. Although we regularly attend safety education sessions, I realized while answering the questions that many topics were not as clear as I had assumed. The challenge reminded me that my safety knowledge still needs improvement and served as a valuable learning experience.
