Representative from Université Paris-Saclay Visits SPEIT to Promote Sino-French Cooperative Project Exchange

On the morning of December 10th, Matthieu Lancry, the head of international cooperation at Université Paris-Saclay visited the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Paris Institute of Technology to discuss the promotion of Sino-French cooperative exchange projects with the institute. Professor Zied MOUMNI, the French Dean of the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology, Xue Xundan, a specialist from the International Affairs Office of the Graduate School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Associate Researcher Zhang Lihui, the person in charge of humanities and social science courses at the Paris Institute of Technology, and Zhu Sinan, an international affairs specialist from the Cooperation and Development Office, attended the meeting.

 

During the meeting, both parties conducted an in-depth discussion on the specific implementation plan for the university-level dual-degree program. Zhu Sinan provided Mr. Lancry with a detailed introduction to the cooperation models and accumulated successful experiences between the institute and schools such as École Polytechnique, Télécom Paris, Mines ParisTech, and ENSTA Paris, further confirming the feasibility of a dual-degree cooperation with Paris-Saclay University. Zied MOUMNI stated that cooperation with Paris-Saclay University would bring more international resources to both universities, further enrich the institute's educational programs, strengthen educational characteristics, provide students with an international perspective, and increase employment diversity.

Both parties agreed that, based on the existing cooperation, more students from Paris-Saclay University could be encouraged to conduct research internships at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. At the same time, Matthieu Lancry expressed his welcome for the Paris Institute of Technology to jointly run summer programs with Paris-Saclay University, allowing students to participate in Paris-Saclay University's innovation and entrepreneurship-themed courses through the summer program, gaining more practical opportunities and enhancing multicultural experiences.

The meeting also optimized the admission process for short-term exchange students. Over the past three years, the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology has maintained close communication and interaction with Paris-Saclay University, sending 18 exchange students to Paris-Saclay University and receiving 5 exchange students. Both parties set clear timelines for the admission of exchange students to improve work efficiency and smoothness.

 

After the meeting, participants had lunch with representatives of exchange students from Paris-Saclay University at the institute, gaining a deeper understanding of the exchange students' learning and living conditions on campus.
