Dr. Zhe Chen is a professor and doctoral advisor in Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research mainly focuses on three directions: nano-particle reinforced Al-matrix composites, the synthesis and 3D printing of high-performance composite powders, and multidimensional mechanical behavior of metallic materials. Dr. Chen has published over 70 SCI papers on major journals including Acta Materialia, Scripta Materialia, International Journal of Plasticity et.al. He has hosted two National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) programs and 12 industrial programs for the Aerospace Technology Group, the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, receiving a total research funding of over 20 million RMB. Dr. Chen received Shanghai technology and invention first class prize in 2017. He has filed for two National Standards and 39 National Invention Patents, with 8 already granted. His group has developed hundreds of key composite components in over 10 categories for Chinese aeronautical and astronautical applications, with many already being installed.
