Youssef MESRI

Youssef Mesri is a Full Professor at Mines Paris since January 2015, dedicating his efforts to advancing research and education in computational mechanics and data science. As the founder and Director of the Advanced Master in HPC-AI for Industry, he leverages his experience gained during his tenure as a senior researcher at IFP Energies Nouvelles, where he leads a research ream in computing and data-driven approaches for geosciences. Youssef Mesri actively contributes as an expert for European and national agencies. He serves as a guest editor and reviewer for several international journals, and since 2016, he has been an invited professor at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, teaching Scientific Machine Learning and Numerical Methods for Fluid Mechanics. His research focuses on the design of efficient algorithms on distributed systems to address massive data challenges. As a Principal Investigator on various collaborative projects with industry, Youssef Mesri has played a crucial role in developing software to model and analyze physical phenomena on large supercomputers. His current projects focus on generative AI and energy-aware AI algorithms for physics.
